A place to collect notes on black, green, white, oolong, pu-erh, and any blends worth returning to.
henryt.uk is now a small tea-focused page with room for history, brewing notes, favourite cups, and the slower pleasures that make tea worth returning to every day.
This page keeps tea front and center: a small, readable place for history, brewing notes, and personal favourites. It still uses no framework, no external dependency, and no client-side script, so it stays fast and easy to edit as the collection grows.
Tea is thought to have originated in southwest China, where it was first valued as a medicinal drink before becoming part of everyday life during the Tang dynasty. From there it spread across East Asia and, through trade in the 16th and 17th centuries, reached Europe, where it became deeply tied to British commerce, ritual, and daily habit.
